Well into the evening of July 4, 1776, Philadelphia printer John Dunlap, the official printer of the Continental Congress, worked diligently at his printing press. His project: turning Thomas Jefferson's handwritten Declaration of Independence into 200 broadsides that were then delivered to the King of England and the American colonies. New Hampshire's copy arrived in Exeter on July 16, 1776 and was read aloud to all of the townspeople by 22-year old John Taylor Gilman. This was the first time our rebellion had been solidified -- just imagine what it would have been like to live during such a tumultuous time, to make the choice to be loyal or to rebel -- and what John Taylor Gilman felt when he read these historic words aloud...
